Warhammer Announces its new semi expansion

Published by hyiero at 10:02 pm under Games, MMO Edit This

For all those MMO(Massive Multiplayer Online) nerds out there you have probably tried or thought about trying the critically acclaimed RvR(Realm vs Realm) Warhammer Online. It has everything that most typical old school players wanted to see in a new MMO, which was a decent pvp(player vs. player) for once that could be more than just an addition to the game but a working element in leveling and collecting gear and achievement points or in Warhammer renown. Warhammer includes also alot of the same type of public quests that we all know and love, solo play, group play but for once since Ultima online this is not the feature that captures most players to the game. Unfortunately Warhammer did not have the numbers that it thought it would when it hit the selves, why well in my opinion it just didn’t have that catch that most other MMO’s have, and that is an end game content that really has a grasp on the player and gives him a reason to keep logging in day after day. But the question is how much of this will change when the live events start going off which Warhammer is declaring its first live expansion to the game?

Well Warhammers Executive Producer Jeff Hickman is quoted with saying “We’re trying to hit really hard for players that haven’t tried Warhammer, or perhaps players that tried it and then went off to play Lich King or something like that. We want them to come back, see all the improvements we’ve made, and all the new content coming up.” So the main emphasis on this live expansion are the players that just didn’t stay and the players that just haven’t surcome to warhammers grip.” A Call to Arms” which is what the live expansion is being called will be starting to go active in the game late feburary with a number of different live events which warhammer is calling “Bitter Rivals” which I’m not going to take time to really go in when you can just go on over to the main site to find out more about. Though in my opinion this is a must for warhammer to take this route because if they ever have a chance of breaking WOWs’ grip over the MMO world they need new and more interesting content that will capture players new and old alike and that will make them want to keep playing even when the cap is hit. That’s just my 2 cents though, if your a MMO fan definitely check out Warhammer Online if you haven’t already and even if your addict of another MMO to even consider clicking the log off button. You might want to hop on over to Warhammers’ site and check out what new is coming, I think it has some pretty interesting concepts and ideas to offer…you may too.
